The Internet, for my generation (the famous GenZ), has been a frontier of freedom in a suffocating world. Well aware that we were not the first in this frontier, but rather that we lived on the shoulders of giants, we found refuge in a place far from real life. A place without a doubt dangerous, but free, where we can be ourselves, where we can say what we thought and express ourselves behind an alter ego, behind a projection of ourselves over which we had effective control, as opposed to the real person, who is always under the scrutiny and pressure of society.

But like the frontier of the old w Bureaucrats from BruellElles toash Every man, every woman must be under state control both in real life and on the network. Every person on the network must be easily reconnected to a real person, every opinion shared on the network must be the one approved by the state, and every dissenting opinion traced to the one who expressed it and that person must be punished for that opinion. Any art form that disagrees with the status quo must be destroyed, made inaccessible and its author punished for his degeneration and protest.

Obviously this control comes in the two favorite wrappers of the bourgeois right: protecting children and national security. They want to convince people that it is absolutely necessary that your government ID be tied to your every internet profile and every conversation monitored for “whether a minor ever comes into contact with something NSFW This false appeal to the most basic human emotions cannot and must not convince us to support censorship and super-control of the internet. We cannot allow the shadows in the cave of pedophile, terrorist and sex to blindly lead us to censorship and abandonment of our privacy. The mantra “if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear” is the greatest lie created in the West post 11 September with which the most terrible human rights violations were justified. It is also clear that these are not the real reasons for this sudden control over the network. The real instigators are not the terf groups like Collective Shout or the NSA bureaucrats (who at most are accomplices) but the zionist lobbies. The free internet has become a megaphone for anti-Zionism (and unfortunately also anti-Semitism) and Zionist lobbies cannot accept it. Those of you who have been attentive may notice the echoes with the TikTok ban and I assure you that the principals are absolutely the same for the same reasons. The Zionists have understood that we are not like our fathers, they have understood that the monopoly on mainstream information is no longer enough, that their propaganda megaphone continues to fall on ears that are deaf to it. And for this reason they are desperate and try at all costs to hide, conceal and propagandize.

Yet all these politicians, lobbyists and activists work against themselves: the more they try to censor, the more they will be rejected. Their popularity has not only plummeted, but more and more radical ideals are making their way into public discourse. The United States slowly descends into new years of lead; in England not only is it a prelude to disorder and civil war, but the enormous tensions in Northern Ireland buried by the “Good Frida Agr In Europe, not so quietly, political dissent increases dramatically, against censorship, war and austerity. Not only did they get the opposite of what they wanted, the population became even more hostile.

What we are seeing now is the realization of a decades plan in its construction.

As early as 2002, Mark P. Mills and Peter Hub Imaging systems and transponders will generate massive amounts of digital data; smart grids, pattern recognition softwares, and remote databases will make sense of the data as it arrives, primarily by comparing the available image with large databases of stored images. We cannot begin to adequately monitor the flow of people and goods without a massive use of digital technologies that perform these functions for us.

The first step is to divide the civilized world in two, separating reliable collaborators from those who do not cooperate, so that you do not have to search every car, package and pocket. Airlines already operate this separation. They already have detailed profiles of most travelers on hand – from credit cards, travel agencies and travel histories-and in fact enlist us as added security agents when they ask us about packing and safekeeping our luggage after ascertaining our identity. The FAA uses that data, in a limited way, with the Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening Sst The same principles can be applied to the checks of vehicles, parcels, letters and almost anything that moves.”

These words already terrifying then, now they are full reality; in fact we are already divided between threats and non-threats, we are all constantly monitored by our purchases, our habits, what we like on the network and what we share. But this is not the only example: in 2002 DARPA planned to create a log of every citizen, constantly monitoring his every opinion, every habit and action with the projects Lifelog and Total Information A. Today, the same models that DARPA wanted to use are used by tech giants, and we actively participate in this data supply, data that is bought by companies like Palantir that end up working for governments. Which in turn promote laws such as the KOSA and the ” Online Safet Act

To make the reader fully understand, an interview follows with his partner Saoirse, a citizen of the United Kingdom in Northern Ireland. The interview is about the impact of the Online Safet Act

“What is your experience with the Online safet Act”

Saoirse:
Put simply, it did nothing but hinder my actual use of the Internet. I need an active VPN almost 24 hours out of 24, 7 days out of 7, just to access the Internet in a way that is not overly invasive to privac.

This affects many sites, from the usual known as the adult sites to even harmless sites like online forums and niche sites. You can’t even watch some videos of completamente

In my opinion, this is a very dangerous precedent to create. Having a link to what some citizens of a country are doing, saying or watching on the Internet is a huge violation of people’s privacy. Especially at a time when the UK government is actively opening up and repressing anti-colonial and anti-genocide groups such as Palestine Action.

The worst thing for me is that this form of government is not imposed on me by my own people, but by the colonial government that governs me. This is not a choice of the Irish living in the six occupied counties, or anyone living in those six counties, but of a foreign government that controls us and what we can or cannot do. A government we are always at the mercy of and over which we have little or no say. We must live by their rules, not ours.

“Do you anticipate that the situation will worsen compared to the current situation? Do you think that the anonymity of the Internet will no longer exist in the near future? Or do you think he’s already dead?”

Saoirse:
The situation will probably get worse. We are already seeing massive attacks on the opposition, such as Palestine Action, as well as radical rights violations and oppression of transgender people like me. The British government takes these initiatives seriously, so why not use these laws to thwart them?

Discussions about banning VPNs should also be significant. It’s clearly more than just a matter of security for minors, as kids don’t have credit cards to buy something like a VPN. Many children’s credit cards already restrict or prohibit the purchase of VPN-like services (as I learned during my youth as a hacker). Why ban a tool like VPNs if not to impose on the population these methods of violating privacy

As for the state of Internet privacy It will never completely disappear, but the goal is to make it too difficult to achieve or pursue. To force people less tech-savvy or those who don’t have the time or ability to get Privac online To assert greater control over people’s access and privacy on the Internet, in order to support their narratives. It allows their fanatical anti-immigration advocates to have a voice online.

“Do you believe that this major effort to control free speech online stems from the massive criticism that Israel has received since the beginning of the Gaza genocide?”

Saoirse:
It is a determining factor, without a shadow of a doubt. The reaction of the most progressive of those under the UK government to the genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, widely publicized and streamed live, represented a blow to the UK’s contribution to Israel’s efforts. Especially at a time when the UK is increasing military spending, production and arms trade.

The UK has also reacted to the most inoffensive and peaceful protests for Palestine with a massive police presence and its violence, with several arrests made regardless of the severity of the force used during the protests or organizational affiliation. Everything from street marches to violations of private property, to riots and vandalism against weapons factories, was dealt with with the same force. A force very similar to the genocide widely documented online.

“Do you believe that there is or will be a sufficiently organized movement capable of repealing this law and similar acts of control, or do you think that things will get much worse before ordinary people take concrete action?”

Saoirse:

I can only speak on behalf of the movement here in Occupied Ireland, but this has only reinforced the growing desire and feeling for a united and decolonised Ireland. As colonial rule over us fools and the most ardent defenders of the English empire in this country are increasingly reviled for their crimes against innocent Irish and immigrants, the desire for decolonization is strengthened.

Our movements must capitalize on this discontent and desire for improvement. Mariste organizations in Ireland are seeing a new increase in membership thanks to their intense campaign against these types of laws imposed through colonial control. As it becomes increasingly apparent that peace never came with the Good Friday Agreement, that only complete decolonization is acceptable.

(2/2)
Even outside the Mar-Ist groups, this has become a popular sentiment; even the social democrats of Sinn Fein (the largest party in the colony) will largely agree with this assessment. We gave up our resistance and in return we got the same oppression, but with a more benevolent face. This is the conclusion of the largest Irish Republican movement, and more and more often we come to the conclusion that we must return to fighting.

We look at the Palestinians and see ourselves. Another group of colonized peoples, subjected to the brutal violence of a colonial force. We feel great sympathy for them because we have experienced similar experiences. We know the pain of colonial violence, being treated as second-class citizens in our own country, the destruction of our cultures. We will always stand in solidarity for this.

For the British themselves. I’m afraid the situation will have to get worse before it gets better. They do not have the same pre-existing beliefs of colonial subjugation or the “easy” way out of evading the English government. As far as I know, the movement is fragmented and uneven in England. The organization does not exist and I do not believe that the conditions for change are adequate yet. In England, it is better for the British to take care of the first appearance before, so that you are ready for the second. They don’t have the popular political support or the paramilitary forces that we have, so they are in a much more difficult situation to fight for change.

In short, as we can see, not exactly something rosy to live under. However, as Mao said: “if the enemy attacks us, we are doing something right”.
It is clear that the ruling class is afraid of the real organized movement and wants to suppress it at all costs, because it knows that what is happening is unacceptable and that the population is against austerity, genocide and capital. But this is the worst period, because the old world is dying, and the new one is late in coming. Now is the time of the monsters and it is up to the organized socialist and patriotic movement to fight these monsters and bring the new world.
